Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) was an American actor, singer and dancer. Her initial roles on Broadway include the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You She was the recipient of the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in a Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford spent the majority of her career working alongside renowned actors, directors, and stage performers across film and television and she continues that award-winning work with many new projects in the pipeline. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's upcoming film is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford is expected to be back in 2023. He will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform The revival of Stephen Sondheim Sweeney Todd. The group behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the control of the show. Ashford has played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, that is a re-telling of the drama during which Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp was the lead character of the first impeachment trial in the United States. She was part of the cast for two seasons of the hit CBS comedy B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford received the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Other Broadway appearances for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, featuring George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as her role as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned a Tony Award nomination. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford is now dividing her days between Los Angeles and New York.
